About the Author

Dessa Reed was born in Illinois and attended University of Illinois. Her careers included homemaker, advertising sales representative, interior decorator, practitioner for her church, and chaplain in a country jail. After seeing the benefits of writing poetry in her own recovery, she now teaches poetry workshops and speaks to organizations encouraging others to find inspiration and direction in creating their own verse. Dessa also sponsors poetry contests in several local high schools.
