cloth, hardcover in dust jacket., some wear, rubbing to dj, top-edge age-dulled., no text markings. no bumps. strong binding.; front free endpaper has a 1939 gift inscription to dr. william hekking, signed by katherine dreier. under that is a note dated 1961 stating that it was donated to the farnsworth art library. the only library marking is evidence that there may have something taped to lower end of dj spine, now gone. the color frontis has hekking's small blindstamped name and a monhegan island, me address to the margin. hekking was an early director of the albright-knox museum, and an artist in his own right. dreier was an artist and modern art champion who formed the noted societe anonyme with marcel duchamp. edwin shawn was a large figure in 20th century american dance.81pp., b/w illustrations and one large color frontis.
