First Edition. Signed by Author. Jerne, Niels Kaj [1911 - 1994]. Danish immunologist, awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1984. The citation read "For theories concerning the specificity in development and control of the immune system and the discovery of the principle for production of monoclonal antibodies". He shared the prize with Georges J. F. Köhler and César Milstein. FDC - First Day Cover commemorating American Mineral Heritage, Signed by Jerne & dated 3rd May 1985. FIRST DAY OF ISSUE ENVELOPE. 6½x3¾. Postmarked Lincoln N.E. New York, June 13 1974. A fine example.
