Signed First Edition (1949) Autobiography and Other Writings by D.S. Peoples Taylor Publishing Dallas A collectible signed edition of Autobiography and Other Writings by D.S. Peoples, published in 1949 by Taylor Publishing Company of Dallas, Texas. This vintage volume is a meaningful addition for collectors of regional history, Texas authors, and mid-20th-century autobiographical works. The book is in good condition for its age. The original blue cloth cover shows moderate wear consistent with time, most noticeable along the edges. The spine remains solid and well-preserved, and the binding is tight and secure. Inside, there is a small tear to the rear pastedown cover. Light foxing is present on the front and rear endpapers, typical for books of this era. The interior pages are otherwise clean and well-maintained, free from markings, writing, or highlighting. The only writing present is the authors signature, making this copy especially desirable for collectors. An attached handwritten letter referencing Jim Payne of Texas is present and glued to the front end paper, providing unique historical ephemera and adding to the books provenance and character. A solid, signed mid-century publication that presents well and remains structurally sound. (BR) Shelf 343.…
