Signed by the author with a dedication to publisher/Sci-Fi fan, Julius Unger. First edition hardcover, published by Fantasy Press, 1948. No dust jacket. The dedication reads; 'To Julius Unger, With My Very Best Regards, Edward E. Smith, Ph.d'. Julius Unger was a founding member of The Scienceers, the first Sci-Fi fanclub, and a member of the committee for the First Worldcon. He also published several fanzines including FFF Fanewscard. 5" X 7-1/2", blue cloth covered boards, 247 pages. Author's name and title imprinted on the spine. This copy has foxing spots on the paste down pages, ffep, title page, and back end papers and paste down. Some fading to the spine, though all lettering is intact and legible. Very little wear to the boards besides the fading. The binding is straight and tight. Not a library discard. A dot of a pencil mark squiggle on the top right corner of the first flyleaf, covering an old price. No further writing besides the dedication, and that squiggle mark. Nice association copy. Part of the 'Skylark' series, this is the second book in the series. Illustrated by A.J. Donnell. We have other Smith titles listed too. Attached are photos of the copy we have in our inventory. Store Description
30 day return guarantee, with full refund including original shipping costs for up to 30 days after delivery if an item arrives misdescribed or damaged.
For international shipments, we might sometimes have to adjust our shipping cost after your order arrives, if we determine that the weight of the book will cause the cost to be significantly more than the standard shipping rate for your country.
We package all of our orders carefully either in a box that has been designed to ship books, or in a padded envelope. We want to make sure you receive your order in the best possible condition!
Our preferred shipping method is USPS Media Mail.
Recently, the USPS has added tracking to Media Mail , which has been a great addition to this service.
If you do choose to have your order shipped "Expedited", my shipping cost may seem higher than expected. Some of our books are large format hardcovers that can cost quite a bit when shipped expedited. So I would like to make sure that I can cover the cost upfront. However, if the actual cost of expedited shipping is less than the charge, I will refund the difference!
