288p octavo. front and rear inner hinge cracked otherwise a very goof copy in blue cloth with publisher's paper labels. American edition scarce. This copy is unique as having belonged to Oswald Garrison Villard with his ownership signature on the front fly leaf. Villard was founder of the American Anti-Imperialist League. In 1910 he donated space in the New York Evening Post where he was a columnist, for the "call" to the meeting that formally organized the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Villard became a co-founder along with W E B Du Bois et al. Seller Inventory # 49821
