Publisher's wraps, printed from The Journal of Philosophy, Vol. XLIV, No. 19, pp. 505-516. Central crease running throughout both covers and text. Golightly graduated with a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Michigan in 1941, briefly taught at Howard University, and served at a number of other academic posts before serving as the first African American President of the Detroit Board of Education.
