This copy is inscribed on the signature page, reading â Best wishes of, Manly P. Hall.â Unlike the more commonly encountered unsigned copies, this example features a different frontispiece photograph of Hall by Wm. Mortensen. This is a short work of mystical prose written in a poetic, hymn-like style. Hall presents spiritual and cosmological ideas through symbolic fragments, personifying cosmic forces and exploring the soulâ s origin and inner awakening. It reflects his early interest in expressing metaphysical themes through elevated, almost liturgical language rather than formal philosophy. Bound in black cloth spine over ornate red cloth boards decorated with acanthus leaves and five-petal roses, with gilt titles to the spine and a gilt cross to the upper front board. It is in Very Good condition, with a slight bend to the boards, bumped and rubbed corners, minor staining to the front and rear covers, a small indentation and area of wear to the rear board, and foxing and toning to the first few and last few pages, including the signature page.
