Add to basketOctavo, 128pp. A few very small stains to outer margins of page block; still a near fine copy. In a good dust jacket, presenting very nicely, with shallow creasing and chipping to extremities, but the front flap formerly detached and re-attached with tape to verso. Pencilled ownership signature of Carroll Hollister, the noted pianist and accompanist of Yehudi Menuhin (and many others) on the front free endpaper. This copy SIGNED by Robeson on the title page, and quite scarce thus; the few signed copies we've encountered in the trade have been either English or other European editions (which makes sense, as Robseon's constant harrassment by the United States government and relative cultural unpopularity in his home country drove him to spend much of his time overseas). "Here I Stand" was the only book Robeson published during his lifetime, and was a kind of manifesto and statement of purpose following the decline of McCarthyism, the Hollywood Blacklist, and HUAC fear-mongering about communism.
