Lawrence Joseph Hogan Jr. (born May 25, 1956) is an American politician and businessman serving as the 62nd governor of Maryland since 2015. A moderate member of the Republican Party, he was secretary of appointments under Maryland governor Bob Ehrlich from 2003 to 2007. Hogan chaired the National Governors Association from 2019 to 2020. Hogan founded the Change Maryland organization in 2011, which he used to promote his 2014 gubernatorial campaign. Hogan said he had no interest in running for the U.S. Senate in 2022, but left open the possibility of running for president in 2024. Larry Hogan is the 62nd governor of Maryland and chairman of the National Governors Association. Recently reelected in a landslide, he is only the second Republican governor in Maryland history to win a second term. Known for his practical solutions, his stark transparency and his ability to work across party lines, he is also a proud survivor of late-stage non-Hodgins lymphoma. His wife, Yumi Hogan, is the first Korean-American first lady in America. The Hogans live in the historic state capital of Annapolis.
