About this Item
The State of the Art by Iain M. Banks. Night Shade Books, San Francisco & Portland, First Edition, Limited Edition to 150 copies, all of which have been signed by the author. Original Dust Jacket, 2005, 200 pp, 8.75 x 5.5". In very good condition. DJ is lightly scuffed at edges & corners, but colors are bright and clean. Dark blue cloth boards are clean - gilt lettering bright. Author's signature found on decorated front fly-leaf. No known previous ownership signature or marginalia. Text-block very clean. Binding tight and intact. Please see photo. Iain Banks (1954-2013) was a Scottish author, writing mainstream fiction as "Iain Banks" and science fiction "Iain M. Banks," adding the initial of his adopted middle name Menzies. Banks took up writing at the age of 11 and completed in first novel in his first year of at Stirling University in 1972. By Banks's death in 2013, he had published 26 novels - a 27th novel, "The Quarry," was published posthumously. Beautiful book in very good condition. Gift quality. Seller Inventory # RAREA2005AHKB
