Butcher, Jim. Storm Front (Book One of the Dresden Files). New York: Roc, 2000. First printing (stated "First Printing, April 2000," full number line 10 through 1). Mass market paperback. Covers bright and glossy with sharp corners; mild reading crease to spine, no creasing to cover art; text block clean and square, page edges lightly toned. Signed and inscribed by Jim Butcher on the title page, "Cat — I hope you enjoy it!", dated 5-6-00. Storm Front was officially published on April 1, 2000. This extraordinary copy was signed on May 6, 2000 - only 35 days after the book's debut. This date places the inscription at one of, if not the absolute first, promotional signings Jim Butcher ever conducted at the very beginning of his career. A significant artifact representing the birth of The Dresden Files franchise.

As a professional wizard, Harry Dresden knows firsthand that the “everyday” world is actually full of strange and magical things—and most of them don’t play well with humans. And those that do enjoy playing with humans far too much. He also knows he’s the best at what he does. Technically, he’s the only at what he does. But even though Harry is the only game in town, business—to put it mildly—stinks.
So when the Chicago P.D. bring him in to consult on a double homicide committed with black magic, Harry's seeing dollar signs. But where there's black magic, there's a black mage behind it. And now that mage knows Harry's name...
“A great series—fast-paced, vividly realized and with a hero/narrator who’s excellent company.”—Cinescape
