A FIRST EDITION, First Printing, from 1948, SIGNED by the Author with a personalized & dated inscription to ffep, in which he thanks the recipient, Frank Cunningham of Santa Monica, CA, "for telling the Pacific Coast about a book cooked up by a couple of other Irishmen--Sugrue & Duffy--way back here in the East." Cunningham's name & address appear in pencil underneath this dedication. With black cloth-covered boards lettered in bright white to spine, this hardcover octavo is in Near Fine condition: completely clean save for light soil & discoloration due to offsetting to endpapers. Binding strong & straight, hinges secure, pages off-white with moderate tanning, heavier to edges, but completely unmarked. Very mild corner bumping The clipped DJ, with orig. $4.00 price intact to front flap, is also Near Fine, with very mild rubbing to extremities & light creasing to both ends of spine; nicely protected in clear mylar cover by earlier owner.
