First Edition. INSCRIBED by the author on the front endpaper: " To Elizabeth / in warm friendship / and in the hope of future collaboration / Alan." The author's first book, inspired by his own experiences during World War II. Very Good plus in a Very Good plus dust jacket. Small bruise on the front endpaper (inscription unaffected). Jacket moderately toned at the extremities, with a small bruise to the front panel, and a few chips to the spine ends.
