About this Item

Signed with gift inscription by the author on the front endpaper, dated June 2nd 1942. Hardcover with dust jacket (DJ). DJ condition is Fair-, book condition is Good+. Book has a notable "old book" smell to it, but is clean. Edges of text block toned, with top edge speckled; some dings on top and bottom edges of text block. Otherwise, pages are bright, clean, and clear of writing, markings, highlighting, etc. Binding tight. Hinges tight. Hardcover board corners curling in a bit. Fabric lightly fraying on top of spine. DJ has many rips on bottom of front cover, from the corner to the spine. DJ has smaller rips, chips and creases along other edges, which are moderately worn. Ink rubbed from surface scratching and scuffing. Light parts of DJ toned. DJ spine bubbled a bit.

Shipping Terms

Orders ship within 2 business days of payment - typically next day. Orders are shipped via USPS media mail at a flat rate of $6 and $2 for each additional item. Orders can also be shipped via USPS priority mail for $15 for the first book. For both services, customers will be contacted if heavy/oversized books require additional shipping costs, or if the shipping destination requires additional shipping costs.

Important note for non-US buyers: International orders are billed at cost, and this cost varies greatly with the weight and size of the order. If you are ordering oversized volumes or multiple books, expect notably higher shipping costs. When you place your order, I will estimate the shipping options and costs with PirateShip and email you about these options. When we agree on a shipping method, I will send an invoice for the additional shipping costs through Abebooks, and will pack and ship the order once this is paid. If it turns out that your order costs less to ship than the default international shipping cost that I use for my books, I will reiumburse you for the difference.
