Stated first printing, 1949, William Sloane. 341pp. This copy signed by author on front endpaper AND bearing stamp of MN Governor Harold E. Stassen, also on front endpaper. Noted 20th-century public relations consultant Benjamin Sonnenberg's business card has been paper-clipped in; a note from Stassen's secretary attesting that the book was a gift from Sonnenberg to Stassen is laid-in. Merle Miller, best known as a biographer of Harry S. Truman and Lyndon B. Johnson, was also a novelist. Vg hardcover, with tight and sturdy binding, pages clean, top corners bumped and tiny chips to gray cloth along top edge. No DJ. Ships from Dinkytown in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
