Octavo. [3], 263 pages, [1]. Green cloth hardcover with red title on front cover and spine. Color illustrated dust jacket. Dust jacket sunned on the spine with wear and foxing on the edges. Slight lean to the binding. Light edge wear to the covers. Signed by the author on the right front flyleaf. Previous owner signature on the front paste down and his blind embossed stamp on the title page (Robert Humphreys Georgia author and Conservationist). "RLH" initials written in silver pen on the front cover. Stated first edition. Georgia writer Vereen Bell was killed in World War II three years after this novel was published.
