First Edition (first printing). This copy inscribed by the author on the title page and dated the year after publication. 8vo. 248pp. Blue boards lettered in gold at the spine. A little toning to the lesser quality paperstock, and a tiny bump to the head of the backstrip. A very good copy in very good non-price-clipped dust wrapper, and a touch of light corresponding creasing to the head of the spine panel. A two-page introduction by the editor precedes poems of childhood by over 175 poets including Edward Thomas (4 poems), John Betjeman, Rupert Brooke, John Clare, T.S.Eliot, J.E.Flecker, Seamus Heaney, Ted Hughes, Louis MacNeice, Kathleen Raine, Siegfried Sassoon, &c, &c., &c.
