About this Item
Allan Kelly is best known for his book "Target: Earth--The Role of Large Meteors in Earth Science." Kelly wrote several book on geology that were quite revolutionary at the time. Years ahead of his time, Kelly s privately-published books were the first to suggest that the dinosaurs were wiped out in the aftermath of environmental consequences caused by a major impact event, predating the famous 1980 Alvarez paper by twenty-seven years. Now, most scientists believe his theory, but at the time, his work was discounted and not recognized in the scientific community. Kelly also suggested development of a rocket system to deflect near-earth-crossing objects that would otherwise impact and cause damage. Kelly further suggested that the Deluge (Biblical Flood) resulted from a large impact off the North Carolina coast. His books present some mythological material but most of the material is geological. The results of Kelly's observations regarding geological phenomena which Kelly asserts prove the validity of his theory of cosmic collision. INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY ALLAN KELLY. A bright and fine copy. Illustrated. Seller Inventory # 45752
