The author of this work was one of the pioneers of aviation. Prior to World War I, she was one of the first women in the air. In this book she relives the exciting days of her career and describes what it was like to teach Amelia Earhart to fly, as well as how it felt to be associated with men like Glenn Curtiss, Donald Douglas, Eddie Stinson, Eddie Rickenbacker, the daring balloonist Major Thomas Baldwin, and many others. Photographs and illustrations are included. This copy is clean and solid. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR inscribed on the FFEP. In 1990 she was inducted into the Iowa Aviation Hall of Fame.
