Purple cloth with embossed letters and decorations on the front cover and black letters on the spine. Just touches of wear to extremities, cloth clean and bright, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. No dust jacket Born in Indianpolis in 1899, June Hildegarde Flanner Monhoff [1889-1987] was an American poet, essayist, playwright and conservationist. Flanner studied poetry at U.C. Berkeley and later resided in Southern California where she continued to write under her maiden name, chronicling events in her life as well as the changing landscape of California in the twentieth century. Flanner authored several volumes including the following: This Morning (1920); Young Girl (1920); A Tree In Bloom and Other Verses (1924) and If There Is Time (1942). The woodblock illustrations in this book are by Frederick Monhoff whom Flanner married in 1926. Seller Inventory # 03134
