Signed by Grass on the half-title page. While copies of the American first edition are common, signed copies are quite scarce. One of the most highly acclaimed novels of post-war Germany. Grass was awarded the 1999 Nobel Prize for Literature and "The Tin Drum" was filmed in 1979 and won an Academy Award for best foreign film. Near fine (minor wear); price-clipped (few very tiny chips & short tears) d/j. Enclosed in a custom-made, clam-shall box with leather onlays reproducing the image on the dust jacket.
