First edition and first printing. Hardcover. A powerful collection of black and white images of bullfighting. A near fine copy in cloth boards in an about good dust jacket that has a long tear, creasing and chips to the bottom of the front panel, some other small chips and tears and wear and some tape repairs to the verso. Clergue, a collaborator of Picasso's, here captures the pain and anguish of a blood sport's losers. Although this was not intended to be anti-bullfighting, it looks that way to modern eyes.Condition of this book:Dust jacket is chipped at edges, some leaves over-opened. This is the first USA edition. Size: Quarto. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact.
