INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY JAN VAN DER ELST - Quarto [approximately 12 inches high by 9-1/4 inches wide], cream paper covered boards with a vignette in green on the front cover in a dust wrapper. The binding is bumped. The dust jacket is rubbed & chipped with some creasing to the edges. There is foxing to the edges of the rear fold. 122 & [3] pages plus colophon. Illustrated with 7 color plates reproducing famous Flemish paintings by Hans Memling, Jean van Eyck & others. There is some foxing to the edges of the book. Good. First edition.Inscribed by the author on the half-title & signed "J. van der Elst".Stories for young people, inspired by famous Flemish paintings. The text is in French.
