About this Item
[10], 117 pp. 8vo., orange cloth, title printed in black to spine, orange paper label to upper board. Dust-soiling to top-edge, but internally clean. Soiled at spine, with a touch of soiling to sides. A very good copy of a scarce title. Laid-in is a TYPESCRIPT POEM WITH AN AUTOGRAPH NOTE. "A Touch of Snow" is typed on a single sheet of onion-skin paper (11" x 8.5") with an autograph note "For Ted and Kay Morrison from Donald." In the note Davidson tells of leaving Vermont (Where he and Theodore Morrison taught at the Bread Loaf Writer's Conference) at the first sign of cold weather for South Carolina and, after briefly losing his southern itinerary, closes with "I don't know why I write Vermont poems when I'm in the Deep South." Davidson was a leading figure of the Fugitive movement, a co-founder of the The Fugitive in 1922, and co-editor from 1922-1925. Seller Inventory # 100922
