London: Chapmans, 1993, First Edition. Bound in half blue leather and cloth boards. Signed by the author on the title page, quite illegible but consistent with his signature in other works. The words from the Author Arnold Goodman can be made out. Goodman would have been 78 years old at the time but his lawyer signature was never terribly legible see other examples online. Bound in half blue leather/blue cloth separated by blind tooled lines, spine has 5 raised gilt edged bands separating 6 compartments with gilt embellishment to 4 of them. Illustrated with black and white photos. The original Dust Jacket has been bound in at the rear of the book and is in good condition. 464pp. Arnold Abraham Goodman, Baron Goodman, CH, (21 August 1913 12 May 1995) was a British lawyer and political advisor. Approximately 9 ½ inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine good condition gilt titles, 5 raised gilt edged bands separating 6 compartments, 4 of which have gilt decoration, some minor marks and scratches. Joints good condition sound, gently rubbed. Corners good condition. Boards good condition half blue leather/blue cloth separated by blind tooled lines, there are a few small scratches to the front board and there is a mark on the cloth on the rear board. Page edges good condition top edge gilt, fore and bottom edges plain. See above and photos. Internally Hinges good condition sound and intact. Paste downs good condition plain. End papers good condition plain, the front end paper has the name of a previous owner Geoffrey Lawson . Title good condition signed by the author. Pages good condition clean and bright throughout, the original dust jacket has been inserted at the rear of the book and is in great condition. Binding good condition sound.
