The ten directors selected include Channing Tobias, William Lloyd Imes, Oscar Hammerstein II, Algernon D. Black, Hubert T. Delany, S. Ralph Harlow, Benjamin E. Mays, Eleanor Roosevelt, Earl B. Dickerson, & W. J. Walls. They may have signed a petition, given a speech, sponsored a program, written an article, or joined a group. The Georgia Commission on Education was one of the primary bodies in the South distributing propaganda on the belief that the civil rights movement was spearheaded by Communists. They were responsible for the infamous poster showing Martin Luther King, Jr. attending Labor Day weekend activities at the Highlander Folk School.Stapled wrappers , name on front wrap, plus X's by a number of the items.
