On an overcast night in Washington, D.C., a group of highly-trained killers has assembled to embark on a mission that will send a startling wakeup call to America's political leadership. Under the cover of darkness, the assassins move through the shadows of D.C., leaving in their wake the lifeless bodies of two senators and a congressman. The next morning, a shocked country awakes to find that three of their most infamous politicians have been brutally murdered. In the political firestorm and media frenzy that follows, the assassins release their demands - the country's leaders must set aside their petty, partisan politics and put America back on a proper course, or the killing will continue. While the FBI and the CIA scramble to catch the group of efficient killers, only one man holds the answer to the question everyone is asking... Who are the killers? Former U.S. Marine and freshman congressman, Michael O'Rourke, not only knows who the assassins are, he fears that he may have set the murders in motion. While O'Rourke struggles between keeping his secret or going to the FBI, the assassins strike again. With the body count growing, O'Rourke is forced into action. As the young congressman digs deeper and deeper, he is led down a road marked with murder, corruption and a truth the American peo¬ple must never know. The readers of Clancy, Ludlum and Grisham will love this fast-paced tale of assassination, deceit and revenge that moves from the Oval Office, to the dark waters of the Chesapeake, to the sterile subterranean chambers of the CIA.
