First edition. Pictures by Harold James. Slight edgewear else near fine in a very good dust jacket with fading on the spine, short tears, and a clipped corner on the front flap. Warmly Inscribed by the author to editor and author, Charlotte Zolotow: "To Charlotte without whose guidance Tessie would never have reached first base. Jesse." From the library of Charlotte Zolotow, editor and publisher at Harper s celebrated children s books department, and acclaimed author of over 65 children s books.
