This copy inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper: "To Mrs H.N.Craig with every good wish from Vera Brittian June 1957". 8vo. 480pp. Red pebbled cloth with somewhat faded gilt lettering to the spine. Top edge dust soiled, and the backstrip cloth lightly faded. A nice crisp copy. No dust wrapper. Laid-in is an original photograph of the author with a notation on the reverse: "Vera Brittain. The Poetry Society Lunch at The Rembrandt Hotel, Knightsbridge, London. Photographed by Linda Collin Wileman". The successor to the author's noted Great War memoirs 'Testament of Youth' (1933).
