Three works on the art of the noted portrait artist George Romney, owned by Patricia Jaffe with her signature, correspondences and editorial notes. The first edition to all but 'Drawings by George Romney', which is a proof copy.Signed by Patricia Romney to 'Drawings by George Romney' to the half title.Illustrated with fifty-eight monochrome plates to 'Drawings by George Romney', seventy-five monochrome illustrations over fifty-two plates to 'George Romney 1734-1802', and monochrome and full colour vignettes and full page illustrations to 'George Romney' by Alex Kidson. Collated, complete.Three volumes.This set features a collection of works on George Romney which were previously owned by Patricia Jaffe, the author of two of the works and curator of the exhibitions they cover, and an expert on Romney's art. The set includes;'Drawings by George Romney', a proof copy with Jaffe's editorial notations throughout. The work features a catalogue of drawings on display at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. The exhibition was selected and catalogued by Patricia Jaffe. This work contains many plates depicting the artwork on display, and provides descriptions of the pieces on display.'George Romney 1734-1802', a catalogue of the works of Romney on display at the Norodna Galerija Ljubljana in 1989. This work includes a collection of postcards gifted to Jaffe for her assistance in creating the exhibition, and a letter to Jaffe with details on the exhibition, written by the XCC Representative in Yugoslavia. Pages clean and bright to all but 'Drawings', which features editorial notes by the author, and lightly age toned. Very Good Indeed.
