The Thurber Letters: The Wit, Wisdom, and Surprising Life of James Thurber (Signed First Edition)

A lovely Signed First Edition presentation copy! Fine in hardcover (square, tight, unmarked) in a fine dust jacket -- clean, bright, tight -- which has not been price-clipped. No rips, no tears, no rubbing, and no markings of any kind. First edition; first printing (full number line present). Presentation copy from Rosemary Thurber, daughter of the humorist James Thurber, to "Katharine and Andy," with a long hand-written inscription by Rosemary Thurber, with a charming pencil drawing of a dog. The inscription references "a Columbus man, a friend of my father" (Columbus was James Thuber's hometown, and the location of Thurber House), as well as visiting a house in Ohio, where Rosemary found "No trace of Althea" (undoubtedly a reference to Althea Adams Thurber, the first wife of James Thurber and the mother of Rosemary). Ships from NC. All hardbacks are sealed in recycled plastic, packaged securely with protective wrapping, and shipped promptly with tracking information. (OS-4.).
