About this Item
Araki's third self-published book, Tokyo. This copy inscribed in Japanese on the inner blank page (English translation): "To Mr. Kazuo Kitai, on this end-of-war memorial day, from Nobuyoshi Araki, who's just like that super-elite Ken Domon." Araki sent a number of copies of this work to other photographers when it was released in 1973; this is one such copy, sent on the end-of-war memorial day (that is, August 15, 1973) to photographer Kitai, in which Araki compares himself to (at the time, already established) the "elite" Ken Domon. A unique and important copy of this work from a number of perspectives. Seller Inventory # ABE-1549883279994
