Andre De Toth had a long and varied career having worked for Alexander Korda in England and eventually arriving in Hollywood and achieving amazing success in the 1950s as a director of 3-D films including The House of Wax, while having sight in only one eye! He went on to work in early television and later on Lawrence of Arabia and Superman. Inscribed "To Nelson, Andre De Toth" on the title page.
