First edition, first printing. Signed by Amos Alonzo Stagg on the front free endpaper. Bound in publisher's original maroon ribbed cloth lettered in gilt. Near Fine with light mottling and wear to cloth, small puncture to rear board, small abrasion to front paste down and pages toned. In a Very Good unclipped dust jacket, perhaps supplied as trimmed slightly shorter than the book, with chipping and wear. Stagg was the first to be inducted into the Football Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach.
