First edition, first impression, signed to the title page by Joe Simpson; an early example of the author’s signature, likely from around the time of publication, in which his name is expressed much more fully than the quicker and more economical iteration he subsequently used when signing. Fine: tight and square binding in sharp black boards; publisher’s ISBN correcting sticker to the title page; crisp and clean throughout, presenting as unread. The unclipped first-state dustwrapper (£10.95 net stated) is Near Fine+: crisp and vibrant; a little minor wrinkling to the head of the spine; a small area of wrinkling to the laminate at the top-edge of the front panel (production flaw), else excellent; presented in a removable, archival-quality Brodart protective cover. A lovely copy. All orders are sent carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and sturdy cardboard.
