A 295 page history of the Red River Valley in Manitoba - with special reference to the towns of Carman, Miami, Morden, and Roland. A few b/w photographs assist text. Read more about : Mandan Trail, Plum Coulee, Mrs. Elmer Langtry, Methodist Settlement Committee, Warrington,and steam tractor. There are detailed township maps on both end-papers. Author has signed ahead of the half-title with a dedication and the date: `Xmas 1957'. Cond : Boards are green with black lettering. D.J. is lighter green with green lettering. A sternwheeler and a covered wagon are on the d.j. graphics. D.J. is spine faded and has heavy edge wear - esp. at top. Volume is tight, bright, square and clean. No marks, no tears. Collectible ! ! Quote (p.97) : " The jewellery store was run by Mr. S. Tyndale, who also made a deep impress upom this community.
