Demarquay, Jean Nicolas (1814-75). Traité des tumeurs de l’orbite. viii, 584pp. Paris: Victor Masson, 1860. 214 x 132 mm. 19th-century quarter morocco, marbled boards, spine worn, two lower corners bumped. Light toning but very good. Presentation Copy, inscribed to Ricord on the half-title: "à mon excellent maî[tre] le Professeur Ricord son élève devoué et reconnaissant Demarquay" (inscription trimmed). First Edition. Demarquay was one of the first to publish on tumors located in the orbit (bony eye socket), issuing a memoir on the subject in 1853 and following it with the present more comprehensive work. Albert, Dates in Ophthalmology, p. 1864. .
