About this Item

First Edition (first printing). A presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper: "To Biddy Crozier with respect and affection from George Fraser, December, 1948". Slim 8vo. 96pp. Black cloth lettered in gold at the spine. A hint of toning to the endpapers. In virtually fine state with tanned and dust soiled dust wrapper with a short open tear to the head of the spine panel and a tiny area of loss. Forty-seven poems. Margaret 'Biddy' Crozier was an actress and the wife of the producer and dramatist Eric Crozier. She was friendly with W.S.Graham, David Gascoyne and Tambimuttu amongst others, often very generous during hard times and regularly put them up in her book-crammed Hampstead home (Tambi apparently required some "fending off" measures on these occasions).
