Synopsis:
Shahelle dreams of climbing her favorite tree - a great banyan planted in her neighbor's front yard. Unfortunately, her neighbor, the feared Frigid Dontmindmewatching, prohibits anyone from coming close to her property, picking any debris from the tree, and demands that all the neighborhood grass be kept very short. Why Mrs. Dontmindmewatching demands so much is a mystery to everyone. Could it be that her tree and its surroundings conceal a secret?
Shahelle is about to discover not just a mystery, but also the existence of fairies - an unimaginable secret from her own life. She must also confront a lethal enemy and defend her baby brother and many other children
About the Author:
Claudia Carbonell was born in Cali, Colombia. She began writing short stories when she was seventeen years old. At nineteen, her work was already being published in a popular Ecuadorian newspaper called El Meridiano (The Meridian). She never stopped writing, and her life work, which is thirteen years in the making, is compiled in an incredible nine-book fantasy series written for children and teens appropriately called, The Magical Series. This series contains eight novels and a book of short supplementary stories. The series is rich in the themes the author is most passionate about: ecology, fauna and flora. She expands these themes through the beautiful filter of fantasy from the pleasant animals' point of view while they strive to survive the abuses of humans. Of equal impact is the environmental deterioration and Man's ambition that destroys the forests, jungles and contaminate water sources. Mythological creatures and others created by the author make their debut through multiple worlds that strengthen the series. The author's sense of humor and unique "voice" is present on each page of her books. Without doubt, this work will be not just for entertainment but will touch the reader's consciousness. Along the way Claudia has found time to pursue a couple other passions in her life. As a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, specializing in life coaching, Neurolinguistic Programming and Strategic Intervention Therapy, focusing on helping people getting rid of addictions, disempowering beliefs and habits. She's an acting and modeling coach. She is also founder of a talent and personal development program called Destiny Makeover. Claudia also gives conferences on creative writing, including short stories, novels and screenplays. In addition, she coaches on nutrition, skin care and personal development. On these subjects, she freelances in magazines and newspapers in California where she lives with her husband, Aaron, and her mother, Lola. Claudia's main source of inspiration are her two children: Brigitte Chantal and Andrew Phillip, who once in a while share with her their dog, Bella. The Magical House (La Casa Mágica), Enlightened State ( Estado de Luz), The Tree of Life ( El Árbol de la Vida), and The Garden Fairy ( El Hada de los Jardines), are Claudia's first published books.
