A wonderful first printing of the first edition [Random House NY (1949)], signed by author Truman Capote directly on the front free end paper. The book is in absolutely lovely, near fine condition with an ink smudge on the fly paper but no remainder marks, a tight and square binding and with no owner inscriptions or highlighting. The dust jacket is in very good condition, not price-clipped ($2.75), with some fading on the spine and mild chips/tears. Stunning condition for this very fragile jacket. It is now protected by an archival cover which is easily removable.
