Full leather binding, gilt illustration of a trout on a line jumping from a pond. Three raised spine bands, gilt lettering, Marbled endpapers have tanned edges. Deckle fore & bottom edges. Top edges gilt. Tissued frontispiece. 15 color plates. Black & white illustrations. Hinges NOT cracked. Binding cracked at limitation page, but still strong otherwise. Leather binding is in good condition, with some rubbing to corners & edges. Corners lightly bumped. Outer inch or so of the back cover is sun faded, as is top half-inch & fore edge of front cover. Pages very lightly & uniformly tanned but still supple. Three pairs of pages have tanned areas from newspapers clippings that were stored between pages. Otherwise, pages clean and unmarked. One B&W plate has a spot of foxing. 451 pages. NO slipcase or additional set of plates. Photos available on request. Fly plates in full color painted by Dr. Edgar Burke.
