Attached, on Hull House Letterhead, is a Typed Letter Signed by Addams to Haynes: "November 2, 1918 My Dear Mr. Haynes: Would it be possible for you to dine at Hull-House on Friday evening at a quarter past six? If you have another engagement for that evening, would you kindly telephone me at Monroe 70, so that we may make an appointment for the next day? I am one of the speakers at the memorial meeting on Sunday and shall certainly see you then. I have been very grateful for the things you have written about Mr. Jones. Very sincerely yours, Jane Addams." John Haynes Holmes was a co-founder of the NAACP and the ACLU. One loose leaf and slight scuffing to boards else near fine.
