1st Edition, second printing (printed in the same month as the first printing). John Haynes Holmes copy with his name and date (December 1910) written on fly leaf. Attached, on Hull House Letterhead, is a Typed Letter Signed by Addams to Haynes: "November 2, 1918 My Dear Mr. Haynes: Would it be possible for you to dine at Hull-House on Friday evening at a quarter past six? If you have another engagement for that evening, would you kindly telephone me at Monroe 70, so that we may make an appointment for the next day? I am one of the speakers at the memorial meeting on Sunday and shall certainly see you then. I have been very grateful for the things you have written about Mr. Jones. Very sincerely yours, Jane Addams." John Haynes Holmes was the founder of the NAACP and the ACLU. One loose leaf and slight scuffing to boards else near fine. Seller Inventory # 000770
