Signed limited edition, limited to 1000 copies, this is number 611, signed by illustrator Arthur Rackham. Published by William Heinemann in 1909. Original vellum covers with gilt decoration to the front and spine, top edge gilt, 15 colour illustrations tipped on brown card with captioned tissue guards, black and white illustrations at the beginning and end of chapters, printed on handmade paper. viii+136pp, 30x24cm. Vellum somewhat marked and stained, but still quite pleasing, silk ties have been cut, with one present at the rear endpapers, binding is square and secure, pages mostly bright, other than those opposing the brown card, which have tanned, tissue guards with some faint spotting, one tissue guard with a small repaired tear to a corner. Good condition.
