INSCRIBED, 'To Walter and Jane/ Sullivan -/ With old affection -/ for those condemned, too/ Andrew Lytle -/ Nashville, 1958." Walter Sullivan (1924-2006) studied under Lytle at the Iowa Writer s Workshop before becoming an author, critic, longtime Vanderbilt University professor, authority on Southern literature, and -- along with Lytle -- one of the founding members of The Fellowship of Southern Writers. His wife, Jane Harrison Sullivan (1923-2022), taught English literature at Aquinas College. 8vo gilt-stamped blue-green cloth with black blocking; top edge pale green; 373 pages.
