SUBTITLED: By Rev. W. A. Keesy. Personal Recollections of the War of the Rebellion by a Private Soldier. BOOK DESCRIPTION: Tall 8vo, xvi, 240 pgs., illustrations, portrait plates. Roster pgs. 171-176. Original orange cloth with black gilt lines and title on front cover. Original cabinet card portrait of the author is taped in on the front endpaper; penciled presentation from the author on front free endpaper, and with inked signature under the frontispiece. CONDITION DESCRIPTION: Covers are soiled and lightly rubbed and worn on edges. Interior is clean and tight. With clear mylar wrapper. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: The author served in both the 55th and 64th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiments. The 55th Ohio Infantry Regiment was organized at Camp McClellan in Norwalk, Ohio September through December 1861 and mustered in for three years’ service on January 25, 1862 . The 55th was attached to Schenck's Brigade, Railroad District, West Virginia, to March 1862. While a member of the 64th OVI, the regiment served in the Atlanta Campaign and the Franklin-Nashville Campaign. The 55th Ohio is recognized as one of the FOX 300 Fighting regiments.
