Crown of spine leather is worn (frayed) with very light extremity wear to all edges. Several foldout facsimiles - one of which is laid in as it separated (neatly) at it fold. The engraved title page (original tissue guards in place), is SIGNED by the engraver, J.A. J. Wilcox. - Varick served under General Schuyler during the American Revolution. At West Point he served as an aide to General Benedict Arnold and was arrested when Arnold defected. - He went on to serve under General George Washington. A fabulous interesting history.
