A View of The Bridge

“...her HEART is her downfall…” Surrounded by sex, drugs and money, Chaka learns at an early age just what it takes to survive in New York’s notorious Queensbridge Projects. Determined to live the glamorous life of a drug dealer’s lady, she finally finds her sponsor in Malik –the much older and street smart hustler who quickly shows her that everything glittering ain’t necessarily gold. Backed by Malik’s notoriety, her place on top of the Queensbridge drug hierarchy is untouchable until her heart leads her to make one wrong move. Now forced down a path she’s not yet equipped to navigate, her choices come with dire consequences until nobody is safe. With lies, jealousy and death lurking around every corner, Chaka must maneuver her way through the web of violence she has spun for herself before the street life she’s been chasing for so long finally catches up to her. If it does – she’ll never make it out and unfortunately for those around her, she might have to take a few people down in the process, by any means necessary….

Born and raised in New York City's infamous Queensbridge Housing Projects, Chaka writes about life from a gritty and authentic point-of-view. She's a Gates Millennium Scholar who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Temple University. She currently resides in Atlanta, GA.
