Vignettes, or Autobiographical Fragments.

216 pages. Black cloth. In a quite nice, unclipped dust jacket, with no signs of usage. This copy with a friendly, longish inscription on the front endpaper, SIGNED and dated in 1979 by CHILDS. The book is clean, tight, and unmarked. Interesting is the use of vanity press Vantage Press as publisher, usually reserved by those who can't get published otherwise, but Mr Childs had many books published by other houses. In 1983, six year later, Frederick Fell published another autobiography of Childs, which I have not had the opportunity to examine a copy of. I don't know if this present book could be considered a preview, a less edited book, or one covering different aspects of his amazingly eclectic life.
