First UK edition. Blue cloth binding. Foxing to page edges, very clean text throughout. Inscribed and signed by the author to front free endpaper. The recipient was Dr. Kurt Hahn, founder of Gordonstoun School (and numerous others around the world) and also the Outward Bound Organisation. The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme was also based on Hahn's Moray Badge scheme at Gordonstoun (Prince Philip had been one of Gordonstoun's first pupils). An account of the first 40 years of the Rhodes Scholarship, the author was American Secretary to the Rhodes Trust from 1918-1952. A rare signed copy with interesting association. Overall condition is Very Good. Size: 5.25 x 7.5 inches (13 x 19 cm). Hardback. Printed pages: xvi, 140.
